As students approach collegiate-level sports placement, and as recruiters look for the exact positions they’re going to need for their line-up in coming years – TNL is situated as the place they both turn to.

Members can use the online booking and scheduling page, driven by Appointy.com, to make appointments for the coming week. There’s a place for the growing membership to be featured in the athlete gallery so that recruiters can identify the athletes that meet their needs. TNL has an additional service that will even provide sports highlight reel videos right on each athlete’s gallery entry.

TNL’s web site helps to position themselves smack dab in the nexus of this critical time for student athletes with social media connectivity and old-fashioned skill honing so that they can truly help their members take their game to The Next Level.

The store uses a customized ZenCart shopping cart with soft, clean colors and design. Taking the cues from this, the Daisies and Dimples WordPress blog is integrated with the same look and feel:

Coordinating with the colors of the table decor for the event, I used their name, their slogan and a simple plaque to hold their names.

Laminating the back side of these lightly to protect against condensation, a velcro dot or two holds it in place so that the people always know which is their water bottle. I’m hoping my friend comes back with a snapshot of a bottle all dressed up to share here.

Unfortunately, though, every one of those has to be adapted or built by hand, because of it’s unusual proportions.

I chose the theme image to use for this Pastoral Forum with Pastor Jack Hayford from Midnight Oil’s awesome coordinated graphics set called Tree Roots. Because they provide images and video with and without the pre-titled words, I was able to use the wordless versions and provide our own title over it.

The flourishing of a tree through all the seasons of an annual cycle seemed to be a good metaphor for the theme of the one-day conference, “Sustaining Pastoral Excellence”.

The original image, to the right, wasn’t anywhere near wide enough to go on the center screen. An hour later, I’d manufactured another 1024×768 of pixels to make a complete image the correct size, as pictured below. Hopefully the only people who would know how much I doctored it up to get it on the extra wide screen are the artists at Midnight Oil where I purchased the original set.

The side screens, which changed at various times to hold content, used the same colors, and were a tad darker for contrast with the texts. A painted backdrop provided interest with texture and color. Here are two examples of the same background used for two of the sponsor’s screens:

All of these screens were the last creations for this event – now that it is over, I’ll be filing everything away for the next one.

Small changes in how the same elements from the base brochure design helped to make the card look fresh.

But they also wanted to be a repository for tutorials and other information. So they needed a web site that could take their private uploads, manage their downloading needs without human intervention, and still function as a place for digital scrapbooking tutorials that anyone could get to.

The web site is re-dressed every month by one of the SNL Members. They are keeping an image archive of what the front pages have looked like for each month so people can enjoy how lovely it looks!

I maintain and help with the skinning the site anew each month. All back-end modifications and additions, as well as the help files, are all things I developed for them.

SNL Scrappers is a free group where everyone who wishes to participate each month designs and contributes a set of digital scrapbooking backgrounds and elements all made from the same color palette. At the end of each month, you have a huge amount of things, done in a variety of styles, which all coordinate. Each member who contributes that month gets to download everything from everyone from that month, all for free.

With a little tint to their shiny logo, highlights of orange and green that complemented the stock photos, and VOILA! the tri-fold was done. The final brochure was printed on glossy stock and bleed to edge, turned out FAB!

The simple logo in type helped to tell a little bit of a story – the letters formed a cross, and the word ‘Excellence’ was found under the cross.
